The Decade Theater
To celebrate ten years of Staff Picks at SXSW, Preacher and Vimeo teamed up to create The Decade, a fully immersive theater experience dedicated to 100 of the most iconic Vimeo Staff Picked films. From a custom marquee to animated film posters and themed concessions, every detail paid homage to the creators. In addition to setting up space to screen 100+ short films, we transformed nine rooms into experiential theaters to bring classic Staff Picks like “Hi Stranger” and “Marcel the Shell” to life. The main theater featured talks from Staff Pick greats like Danny DeVito and Kirsten Lepore by day and was the late night venue for live DJ sets like Dan Deacon, Wooden Wisdom and Kawehi.
